The Castellaccio Suite is a hideaway for two with a fantastic view over the Umbrian hills, all the way to Lake Trasimeno. It is situated at 600 metres above sea level near the village of Piegaro on the border with Tuscany. Cocooning was the keyword for the property’s Belgian owners when they began planning the house: they wanted to create a retreat for two people that would be truly surrounded by nature.
The compact house nestles into the slope of Monte Arale and blends in beautifully with its surroundings thanks to its stone facade. The entrance is on the upper floor, where the bedroom with a comfortable bed and the bathroom are located. A filigree staircase leads down to the open plan living room with sitting corner, dining area, and a kitchen made by a local carpenter. The retro-style furnishings and the colour accents in blue and pink create a light and cheerful atmosphere. Large windows on three sides frame the views of the landscape. Outside, the lounge corner, the dining table under the pergola, and the set of deck chairs and 8 x 3 metre pool will invite you out to relax with views over the woods and olive groves.
