The Arche (ark) has “dropped anchor” in the Austrian village of Serfaus. The holiday home with its extraordinary architecture refers to the surroundings with its materials. The stones of the façade and a stone wall inside the house resemble the roughness of the Serfaus Mountains. The house is otherwise dominated by wood and its shape looks like a wooden boat – as its name suggests. However, a very luxurious one! With its spacious interior, the house is ideal for a holiday with family or friends. There is plenty of space for gatherings: in the dining area with a large corner bench – a modern interpretation of the traditional Tyrolean lounge – or in front of the crackling fire. But the house also offers enough opportunities to retreat. And a special highlight can be found in the attic: A large wellness area with sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and infrared cabin with mountain views.
The „Arche“ consists of two housing units, which can be booked individually or together. The apartment for eight persons features a large living, dining and cooking area on the ground floor, a sleeping area on the first floor with four double bedrooms (all with private bathrooms) and a wellness area on the top floor. The apartment for four persons is connected to the main apartment by a connecting door. It comprises a living room with kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
What to do
Serfaus is part of the snow-sure ski region "Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis". Various winter sports facilities (skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, tobogganing etc.)
In summer: hiking, biking, climbing, rafting.
Why we like this house
Modern alpine architecture, innovative technology and plenty of space - and at the same time as homey as a mountain hut.
This house is great for
For large families or holidays with friends. The central location of the house near the lifts as well as hiking and cycling trails is ideal for ourdoor activities.
Sustainability
Getting there without a car: train to Landeck and with the post bus (approx. 1 hour ride) to Serfaus.
Owner
Philipp and Johanna Schwarz have built their holiday house Die Arche the way they like to spend their holidays – with enough space for family and friends, for cooking together, sauna sessions after cold skiing days and for cosy evenings in the company of our loved ones. Born in Serfaus, he and his wife implement their ideas of modern architecture and thus set a counterpoint to the traditional building style. In addition to Die Arche, they also have a second holiday house in Serfaus, the Villa Rasilla.
