The Hainichhöfe are located on a small hill in the immediate vicinity of the Hainich World Heritage Site – a forested range of hills in the north-west of Thuringia – near the small village of Mülverstedt. With their wooden façades and large windows, they blend in visually with their surroundings and are places that invite you to come and relax.
Each of the six comfortable chalets offers seventy square meters of space for four people. The open-plan living and dining area, a separate bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom are all located on the first floor. The sleeping gallery upstairs can be reached via a staircase. All the houses are equipped with modern facilities – from the kitchens to the bathrooms, which are transformed into mini spas with infrared cabins.
The interiors, clad in light wood, are furnished in a modern Scandinavian style and radiate peace and security. The interplay of simple built-in cupboards, industrial-style lighting and color-coordinated textiles creates a bright and friendly atmosphere. The wood-burning stove in the living room, which is open up to the roof, provides cozy warmth. Every guest will find a place in the seating areas – whether for reading or simply putting their feet up. There are almost always places to sunbathe, as each house is surrounded on two sides by a terrace.
Nature is also present in every other corner of the houses: during construction, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability and regionality. The wooden modules were pre-assembled and assembled on site in order to protect the land near the nature park. The materials and furnishings were sourced almost entirely from Thuringian companies – from the wooden beams to the culinary welcome.
The Hainich in north-western Thuringia is the largest contiguous area of deciduous forest in Germany. The Hainichhöfe chalet village is located directly adjacent to the World Heritage Site on a small hill with an unobstructed view of the Thuringian basin. Each of the six comfortable chalets offers 70 square meters of space for four people.
