Located at 1,395 metres, far away from the hustle and bustle of civilisation. Once you have reached the top – whether by car or even more relaxed by bus and cable car – you embark on a gentle journey into times gone by: For more than 100 years an old farmhouse with a barn has stood here, and its story continues to be told without changing the original overall appearance of the ensemble. After all, a place that is so authentically at rest in itself should not be disrupted architecturally either. With this in mind, the traditional residential house was renovated and supplemented with a modern annexe and a utility building.
To give the holiday guests more space, the staircase and the entrance area were moved to the outside. Inside, numerous windows look out into the countryside and give the rooms air and light.
The heart of the house, then as now, is the restored wood-panelled farmhouse parlour. Next to it there is a bright living room with a panoramic window that impressively showcases the green meadows and snow-covered peaks and offers a place in the sun with its oversized windowsill. Those who prefer to use the profound tranquillity for work will also find a writing desk and an extra reading room with a forest view. And the well-equipped kitchen makes you want to try out your favourite South Tyrolean dishes right away. After all, the only thing that counts here is being satisfied, quite simply.
What to do
Countless possibilities for hiking, skiing, climbing, mountaineering and biking; the skiing and hiking area Rittner Horn is only 15 minutes away by car and many ski lifts are in operation all year round; swimming in the mountain lakes and natural springs; ice skating; meditation, wellness and spas; plenty of inns and restaurants with South Tyrolean specialities and regional wines; the small village of Oberinn is 20 minutes away on foot and has a small grocery store with all the essentials; a visit to the many castle ruins or a trip to the
multi-faceted city of Bolzano.

Im Februar 2023 haben wir eine wunderschöne Woche in diesem stimmigen und Ruhe ausstrahlenden Haus verbracht. Der gesamte Ausbau ist von hoher Qualität und sorgfältig unterhalten.
Der Weiler Engadein liegt unweit des Dorfes Oberinn, fussläufig ist die Busstation erreichbar und Wanderungen sind direkt vom Haus aus gut planbar. Auch im Winter ist die Gegend für Wanderer empfehlenswert. Luise kümmert sich sorgsam um die Pflege des Hauses und rührend um die ankommenden Gäste. Ich empfehle das Haus für Erwachsene und für Ruhesuchende.
Im August 2022 verbrachten wir eine wunderbare Woche an diesem schönen Ort. Das solitäre Haus liegt an feinster Aussichtslage, umgeben von saftigen Wiesen und entfernten Bauerngehöften in einem kleinen Weiler. Das neu umgebaute Haus ist sehr grosszügig gestaltet und in tollster Handwerksmanier vollendet. Spaziergänge und Wanderungen in die nahe und ferne Umgebung laden direkt vom Haus Engadein ein. Luise umsorgt die Gäste liebevoll und kompetent und ist für alle Fragen immer in der Nähe erreichbar. Sehr gerne werden wir hier wieder zurückkehren.
