Mas des Rouges Gorges is a modern country house on the edge of Eygalières, a medieval village at the heart of the Alpilles Natural Regional Park. The Villa draw its inspiration from the traditional limestone architecture of Eygalières. The monolithic building has a facade of large stone blocks which merges seamlessly with a roof laid in stone slabs. The few, symmetrically positioned window openings emphasize its linear character and pure, elegant architecture. But the centre-piece of this 250 sqm house is the double-height living room and complete with broad windows overlooking the garden. The kitchen and one of the bedrooms are positioned at either end of the building’s front. And two additional bedrooms can be found on the upper floor, connected by a corridor with a glass balustrade. The interior is dominated by wood and concrete – a beautiful blend of purism and warmth. Peace and privacy are guaranteed, as the house is surrounded by one hectare of Mediterranean parkland. The large heated pool is a lovely place to while away the hours.

One Comment
We spent two unforgettable weeks in this beautiful house in the Alpilles in the summer. You can feel the special atmosphere as soon as you arrive – the architecture is impressive: modern, refined design and yet cosy – perfectly nestled in the Provence landscape. Not to mention the very well-maintained pool. Every detail seems to have been chosen with love and taste.
For us as a family, the location was ideal: fantastic road cycling routes through the Alpilles right on the doorstep, super-friendly shops for everyday needs in Eygalieres, Saint-Remis-en-Provence right next door, beautiful markets, Aix, Arles & Avignon within easy reach and, last but not least, Mont Ventoux!
A place full of tranquillity that inspires you! We would have loved to stay longer – and will definitely be be back!
