Modern timber architecture in Upper Bavaria: you will find the Sindlhauser holiday apartments on the first floor above a carpenter’s workshop in Ried near Kochel am See – in a sustainable building inspired by local Vorarlberg timber architecture. You access the apartments via a set of stairs housed in the Schopf, a kind of covered veranda. The two 67 m2 and 69 m2 apartments each have a similar layout: on the lower level they feature an open living room with a kitchen and dining area; on the upper level there is a sleeping gallery. The furniture and accessories were designed by the owners themselves. Straight-line design, filigree steel elements and a restrained colour scheme in natural tones define the ambience. The natural materials of wood, slate and clay plastered walls ensure an excellent indoor climate. Apartment Wasserwaage has a covered outdoor seating area in the Schopf with views of the nearby mountains; Apartment Handhobel includes an east-facing balcony and a window with panoramic seating on the gallery.

Ried near Kochel am See is located directly at the Bavarian foothills of the Alps (65 km south of Munich) and offers various leisure activities: hiking & skiing, water sports (Kochelsee, Walchensee), swimming pool, thermal baths, mountain biking and racing bikes, golf, unique moorland landscape, culture (Benediktbeuern Monastery, Franz Marc Museum).
