The holiday home Allerzeit invites you to spend a relaxing holiday on the Aller river. The location on the banks of the river meandering through the Südheide region significantly influenced the planning of the house. The elongated wooden building with its silver-grey façade blends into the 1,200-square-metre plot with an old stock of trees. The plain and straight-lined building is visually restrained and allows nature to take centre stage. It opens up to the river with large windows; towards the neighbours and on the entrance side it is reserved.

The owner is an architect and has built most of the house and designed the furniture himself over the years. The rooms are minimalist in design, and the details are worked through down to the last detail. Walls, floors and the furniture are made of white Douglas fir. The abundance of wood creates a cosy ambience; black features such as the dark wall behind the stove, the kitchen worktop or the chairs add a touch of tension and coolness. Each room offers access to the garden: the living room with a seating area by the fireplace, the kitchen with dining area, the bedroom, the study (with a sofa bed) and the bathroom are fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The outdoor areas are also carefully planned and designed with wood. The living room opens onto a sheltered terrace, with a barbecue area just behind it. The kitchen provides access to the raised beds at the back of the house. The garden paths are wooden walkways; a wooden bench affords views of the river panorama.

What to do

The Südheide is part of the Lüneburg Heath, a region with picturesque landscapes and unspoilt nature. Around the rivers Oertze and Aller there are extensive forests with heathland areas that invite you to go hiking, canoeing or cycling. Excursions to Celle, Hannover, Bremen or Lüneburg are worthwhile.

The house is simple and unpretentious, but at the same time very well-conceived and of high-quality design. Beautifully situated on the Aller river, it is worth a visit at any time of the year.
