Old history, told in a modern way: Once upon a time, there was a historic farmhouse and renowned restaurant near Lake Starnberg, which now shines in a new light.
The fact that the Bauernchalet elbacher gütel in the Bavarian town of Eurasburg is now over 450 years old and has already experienced a great deal, makes it all the more beautiful. Especially in its architectural redesign, which plausibly combines historical structures and modern elements. Thus, the charm of the typical ceiling and door heights, of the partly wood-panelled walls and exposed stone walls, of the milk-can window and the home-woven linen curtains comes into its own in combination with the clear, reduced forms of the contemporary design.
The former small farmhouse, which is now a heritage listed building, was once a home, stable and hayloft. Today, the 175 m2 house has three bedrooms with three modern bathrooms as well as three additional sofa beds, i.e., space for a total of nine people. In addition to the large kitchen-living room, the two living rooms, each with a fireplace, provide ample space for individual guests.
From the balconies you not only have a view of the nearby castle, but above all of the magnificent mountain panorama including the Zugspitze. And in the large garden with terrace and old fruit trees you can spend a relaxing as well as active holiday in nature. After hiking or skiing, head for the hotel sauna or the outdoor shower with a view of the mountains. In the former wine cellar you can enjoy a selection of fine wines and delicacies. A place full of opportunities, where everyone can write their very own history. Whether old or new.
What to do
Hiking, cycling, downhill and cross-country skiing – numerous tours start right on the doorstep, even the Camino de Santiago trail passes close by. There is swimming, windsurfing, sailing, boating or stand-up paddling on Lake Starnberg, Lake Tegernsee, Lake Kochel or Lake Walchen.
