The holiday home Takomst (Frisian for future) in the Dutch town of Ijlst combines traditional Frisian architecture with modern elements and sustainable construction. The rear building, with its modest wooden facade, reflects the shape of the front brick building and is connected to it by a room fully glazed on one side. At the centre of the house you will find the kitchen with a large dining area. The rooms on the ground floor (several lounge areas and a further dining room) are connected by smooth transitions. As a result, you have open views inside the house as well as a wide view outside across the canal and over green meadows. Grey screed flooring, leather and natural-colured felt, and plenty of light-coloured wood give each room a bright and homely feel.
The bedrooms are located on several floors of the front house as well as in the attic of the rear house. This layout also makes the house ideal for a holiday with friends or accompanying grandparents.
What to do
The house is situated on the Eleven Cities Tour directly at the water. It has its own jetty and an electric boat with which you can take tours through the historic city of IJlst with typical gardens and historic houses. The area can also be easily explored by bike.

ein tolles haus für kleine gruppen! was auf den bildern nicht gut rüberkommt, ist die lage: der kleine ort ist sehr nett, vor dem haus ist ein kanal in dem regelmässig kleine boote vorbeifahren, am wasser gibt es einen kleinen garten, wo man sitzen und den booten zusehen kann. hintenraus der blick in die weite des polders. das haus ist super ausgestattet und hat viele überraschende und spannende details!
Wir, 9 Personen, Eltern, Kinder und Enkelkinder, haben gerade ein langes Wochenende in „De Takomst“ verbracht und sind begeistert: vom Haus, der Einrichtung und Ausstattung und den vielen Wohl überlegten Details, die man erst auf den zweiten Blick wahrnimmt. Es hat uns viel Freude gemacht, dort zu Gast zu sein.
