Zalig Aan Zee – Elisabethstraat 8

Zalig Aan Zee – Elisabethstraat 8

Belle Époque in Belgium: Close to the sea, in the midst of the historic splendour of the seaside resort of Blankenberge, stands this listed holiday home. A bright and atmospheric gathering place for families, friends and larger groups.

Up to 24 people can spend their holiday or working days together at Elisabethstraat 8. An exceptional accommodation that resembles a sophisticated shared residence with its eight bedrooms and open-plan living spaces. The bourgeois, four-storey house with elaborate art nouveau decoration has been completely renovated and transformed into a contemporary holiday home with great sensitivity for its valuable architectural heritage.

Right next to the entrance area on the ground floor is the highlight of the house – the dining room with impressive ceiling painting and wall decorations. Protagonist is the sculptural dining table, spanning the room like a wave in motion. The large kitchen is flooded with light through two floor-to-ceiling windows and offers a view of the small garden: A special haven of peace in the middle of the city – for a café, aperitif, pizza-making and togetherness. The lounge in the basement surprises with its large wooden ceiling and a multitude of sitting areas. Here, the tadelakt floor flows smoothly into a cosy and varied sofa landscape that offers space for all guests. All eight bedrooms, spread over the first and second floors, vary in size and are suitable for two to six people with a mezzanine and spiral staircase. Each individual room has its own en suite bathroom.
