A house that draws parallels. Not only in its floor plan. Because the appeal of the holiday home Göhre near Lake Fleesensee does indeed suggest self-confidence, even cheekiness. Even though the name actually comes from the holiday resort of Göhren-Lebbin in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District. But with or without the “h” [in German Göre means a cheeky brat but has the same pronunciation as the place name], the modern solid wood house with its anthracite-coloured sheet metal façade is pleasantly eye-catching in every respect. From the hard shell to the soft core. In addition to the unusual facade, the parallelogram floor plan lends clarity and structure to the exterior, while providing an unusual layout on the inside. In addition, the dark outer shell contrasts with the light wood of the walls and ceilings, which features as a material throughout all the interior spaces. The furnishings and fixtures also create deliberate highlights, such as the kitchen block made of black MDF [medium-density fibreboard].
On the ground floor, a living room with sofa and tunnel fireplace invites you to warm up by the crackling fire after a day at the lake. Two steps lead directly up to the slightly elevated open-plan dining and cooking area. A flowing transition that, in combination with the floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, reveals a view of the expanse of the Mecklenburg landscape and lends the rooms brightness and generosity. The upper floor is designed for retreat, with two bedrooms and a shower room, as well as a Finnish sauna. When the weather is warm and sunny, the garden and terrace are the place to be. Here you can enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine with a panoramic view of the extensive countryside.
