Heimat1883, located at the historic centre of Garmisch in Bavaria, was once the town’s almshouse. Today, you will find five modern and comfortable apartments behind its heritage listed façade. Only natural materials were used in the building’s complex refurbishment: the walls are clay-plastered and the floors are made of oak planks. The apartments are furnished with straight solid wood furniture crafted of oak or stone pine, and muted colours ensure a gentle, laid-back atmosphere.
The history of the house can still very much be felt: the apartment stairwells let you see the old, exposed masonry of the building. In the apartment “Flössertochter” you can see through a window built into the floor to the vaulted cellar below, and the apartment names recall their previous owners. There are four duplex apartments for two to four people and one attic apartment, which offers with space for up to nine people on a generous 220 sqm. The basement features a wellness area with a sauna, steam room and relaxation room.

The house is centrally located between the nearby mountains, which feature hiking trails and a skiing area, and the Garmisch shopping district with plenty of stores and restaurants. The train station is only a few minutes away. There is an hourly train connection to Munich.

Wir haben mit 8 Personen den Jahreswechsel und einen wunderschönen Skiurlaub in der Zimmermann Wohnung verbracht. Die Heimat 1883 ist ein sehr gelungenes Beispiel ein altes Haus hochmodern nachhaltig und sehr stylisch zu renovieren. Dabei ging die Gemütlichkeit nicht verloren. Der offene Bereich und der große Tisch luden zu geselligen Raclette Abenden ein. Die Betten waren phantastisch wie auch das Bad mit Rainshower Dusche und Radio im Bad. Nach einem anstrengenden Ski – oder Wandertag konnten wir uns in der Sauna wunderbar erholen . Die Gastgeber Familie Mangold rundeten mit ihrer Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft den Urlaub vollends ab.
Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl in diesem schön hergerichteten Haus in ruhiger, zentrumsnaher Lage gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir danken dem Ehepaar Mangold für die schöne Zeit.
