Below the Höri peninsula, away from the lively spots and shores of Lake Constance, lies the charming locality of Gaienhofen — a small community with a village-like character and idyllic bays, surrounded by hills, forests and vineyards. hermann&mia are located directly above the historic home of their prominent namesakes, just a five-minute walk from one of the bathing spots, in an exposed location on a slope offering fantastic lake views. Whether for a holiday as a couple, with friends or a (large) family — the two holiday homes can be rented individually or together.
The sleek, light architecture made of glass, steel and wood is modern yet timeless. A fusion of Bauhaus and beach house. Despite their linear clarity and transparency, the rooms radiate a warm atmosphere. The open and variable floor plans and room configurations open up a variety of perspectives and an exciting interplay of levels and surfaces.
On the ground floor, the kitchen, dining area and living room flow together to form a communicative centre. There is a double bedroom to the rear. The upper floor provides even more privacy and green views with a further master bedroom and a free-standing bathtub on the gallery. Whether in bed or in the bubble bath, the lake and landscape are always in view. Swimming in the small lidos along the lake, water sports, hiking (Höri panorama trail) and cycling (Lake Constance circular trail, e-bike hire in Horn), a visit to the Hermann Hesse Museum and his home or the Haus Dix Museum in the neighbouring village of Hemmenhofen (Otto Dix also lived on Lake Constance for many years), Boat trips, an excursion to the monastery island of Reichenau (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen, pretty Stein am Rhein, lively Constance or Meersburg, wellness (at Hotel Hirschen in Horn or Hotel Bora in Radolfzell)

Wir durften im Sommer 25 einige Tage in diesem außergewöhnlich schönen Ferienhaus verbringen — wir waren rundum begeistert! Die hochwertige, bis ins Detail durchdachte Ausstattung (Geschirr, Gläser, Bettwäsche, Handtücher, Möbel) lässt keine Wünsche offen: alles ist von bester Qualität, perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt und vermittelt sofort ein Gefühl von Ruhe und Großzügigkeit. Das Haus wirkt stets gemütlich und bietet gleichzeitig Rückzugsorte für alle Generationen (wir waren 3). Gemeinsame Zeit, entspannte Abende auf der tollen Terrasse mit Blick auf den Bodensee — hier gelingt das mühelos. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und nehmen wunderbare Erinnerungen mit.
Zum Glück haben wir die kleine Buchungslücke über Ostern entdeckt! Wir haben wundervolle, entspannte Stunden in diesem schönen Ort verbringen dürfen. Die Aussicht ist ein Traum. Und das Haus ist einfach ein perfekter Architektur-Entwurf. Dazu eine stimmige Wohlfühl-Einrichtung. Am liebsten würden wir sofort dauerhaft einziehen. Herzlichen Dank auf für die netten kleinen Dinge, die große Freude machen.
Wir buchen schon seit vielen Jahren über Urlaubsarchitektur und wurden bislang nie enttäuscht.
In diesem Jahr haben wir “Hermann und Mia” entdeckt — ein kleines Juwel oberhalb des Hermann Hesses Hauses in Gaienhofen am Bodensee.
In “Mia” sitzt man im Glashaus und kann einen herrlichen Blick auf den Bodensee genießen — dieser ist allerdings im November, zumindest am Morgen, häufig vernebelt, aber das gehört zur Atmosphäre dazu.
Innen ist “Mia” wohl durchdacht und geschmackvoll — im unteren Geschoss ein sehr schöner Wohn-Essbereich mit einer gut ausgestatteten Küche, ein einladender Esstisch, eine gemütlichen Sitzecke mit strahlenden Leselampen, ein Schlafzimmer mit einem super bequemen Bett. In der oberen Etage ebenfalls ein sehr schöner Aufenthaltsbereich mit Balkon und ein gemütliches Schlafzimmer.
Der Bodensee und die Umgebung sind immer ein Erlebnis, er lädt zu schönen Wanderungen ein, am Abend locken gute Restaurants, z.B. das Hotel HIRSCHEN in Horn.
Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir gleich für das kommende Jahr gebucht haben.
