The Ickelhäuser, three listed farmhouses in the Franconian town of Ickelheim, invite you to spend your holidays in a historical ambience. Carefully dismantled and properly renovated, the original appearance of the houses was largely restored. Ickelhaus 1 houses two holiday apartments holiday apartments which are furnished with antique furniture dating back to the 17th to the mid-19th century to match the style of the building. Some of these are made from historic building materials, such as the beds which are made of antique wooden beams or the kitchen counters of original bricks. The kitchen features – hidden behind two wooden doors – modern hobs, so you don’t have to cook on the low wood stove ovens. Nor do you need to give up modern comforts. However, you will not find a television, as the guests should be able to relive the feeling of former times. The apartments each offer 100 sqm of space for four people. The upper apartment can be rented together with the 50 sqm attic and then accommodate up to eight people.
Ickelhaus 2, a farmhouse from 1829, is surrounded by greenery and orchards at the end of a quiet side street within sight of Ickelhaus 1. The wood-paneled living room with the historic stove is the heart of the apartment 110 m² front house apartment AD1829. Modern kitchen facilities and bathrooms as well as antique furniture round off the overall impression. The 90 m² apartment Lichtblick is situated in the former barn tract. The open plan living area is flooded with plenty of natural light thanks to the floor to ceiling picture window. In addition, many small windows offer a variety of views. Upstairs are the master bedroom with its visible rubble masonry, the so-called “wood chamber” with two single beds, and a modern bathroom.
Ickelhaus 3 is a farmhouse dating from 1682 that offers 260 square metres and seven bedrooms for up to 14 people. The old building fabric meets modern details: In the former stable area there is a large kitchen with cooking island. The dining area with long table opens to the garden with industrial windows. Works by the sculptor Friedrich Kern give some rooms a special character.
