Ferienhaus Kleine Bleibe in Montabaur, Reckenthal / DE – Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate

Holiday home Kleine Bleibe

Nature-made relaxation. In the Kleine Bleibe on the edge of the Gelbachtal in the Westerwald, what counts is actually the absence of things. Far away from digital overstimulation, you can enjoy a puristic and sustainable holiday here and drift through the days in a truly relaxed way. After all, there are plenty of exciting things to discover right on the doorstep.

The ensemble of two holiday homes and a shared sauna house, the so-called Hitzekiste (heat box), not only stands amidst old plum and walnut trees, it is also largely made of wood itself. Outside as well as inside. With its massive base and black wooden façade, the timeless minimalist architecture interprets the traditional construction of regional half-timbered houses in a modern way. Inside, you feel like you’re in a tree house, surrounded on all sides by light coniferous wood, while the large window openings bring nature into the house. Only the bathroom tiles provide a deliberate and refreshing contrast amidst the wooden harmony. A place that lives in dialogue with nature and, with its reduced look and discreetly placed details, has an almost meditative effect.

In house Waldwunder, there is room for up to four retreaters, from a small family to a group of friends. With a view of the forest and distant vistas, a spacious kitchen and outdoor terrace for enjoying time together, as well as a living gallery with a seating window for leisure time. House Gipfelglück is particularly suitable for couples and good friends and literally rises above itself. On the way up, you will discover lots of fine little retreats. The highlight: the freestanding bathtub with its view of the forest. Things couldn’t get any greener. Except perhaps for the furnishings, which are exclusively made of organic and environmentally friendly materials. With this in mind, slow down.

What to do

Hiking in the unspoilt Gelbach valley, cycling on the regional heights, e.g. the Köppel, canoeing on the Lahn, finding peace and quiet, a walk through the sleepy little village of Reckenthal and along the sculpture hiking trail that leads directly past the Kleine Bleibe, a shopping trip to the district town of Montabaur, e.g. to the Italian grocery Via Del Gusto.

Why we like this house

A small place with a big impact: architecture in unison with nature.

This house is great for

Couples, Families, Friends

Sustainability

Emission-free hot water generation by means of a regenerative air-water heat pump, 100 % green electricity from regional energy sources, e-charging station at the house, good public transport connections (by train to Montabaur, then continue by bus to Reckenthal).

Owners of Kleine Bleibe

Owner

Breaking away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immersing yourself in the seclusion of nature. This is a genuine and sustainable way of enjoying a holiday, which Nils and Caro Fröhlich have made a reality with their two Kleine Bleibe holiday homes in their homeland in the Westerwald. Nils is an architect and a skilled carpenter, Caro a trained hotel professional and project manager for events and marketing - the perfect combination to create a retreat that is coherent down to the last detail.
