Barcelona-based architecture cooperative Lacol have been renovating a neglected 18th century building in rural Catalonia in collaboration with Andorra-based architects Altura.
Rather than imposing a radically new identity, the architects approach for Ca la Carolina (© Pol Viladoms) was as a careful act of reinterpretation, preserving the building’s vernacular character while adapting it for contemporary living.
