“The Dorf to be” is the motto of the Landlmühle in the Bavarian Alpine foothills, and it doesn’t promise too much. The former mill site at the bottom of the valley of the small river Sims is a multifaceted cosmos of urban quality. It’s also a great place for celebrations and conferences.
With their vision of a pioneering village offering sustainable architecture, local food, self-generated energy and space for culture and networking, owners and architects Rudi and Maria Finsterwalder have created a mix of living, working, gastronomy and community that also offers visitors an inspiring atmosphere for getting together and exchanging ideas.
The Landl restaurant at the entrance to the neighbourhood serves as a venue for family celebrations, work meetings or culinary accompaniment to workshops, serving food grown just a few metres away in the solidarity-based farming project. Regionally rooted and designed in keeping with the spirit of the times. Either in the beer garden under chestnut trees or in the dining room with its minimalist wooden architecture, Bavarian tavern tables, vintage seating and deep green tiled stove. The 120 m² barn is ideal for larger summer parties, cultural events or yoga workshops. Where grain was once threshed, today you can dance, make music, discuss or relax with a view of the countryside.
The 5a office studio in the attic of the imposing mill building, with its exposed beams and sweeping views of the mountains, is ideal for workshops and seminars for up to 30 people. And the achtpunktsechs bar in the former turbine room not only promises an atmospheric end to the day with flower-topped cocktails among ruby-red cushions or in the bar garden directly on the ledge, but can also be hired for smaller private parties, events or cocktail workshops. Suitable for everyone and every occasion.
