Just behind the dunes and the ocean within earshot! Strandhaus fünfzehn (beach house fifteen) in Wustrow on the Fischland peninsula is perfect for a beach vacation. The house replaces a burnt down house from the 70s. The owners wanted to build a typical local house which does not look too modern. Therefore the new building not only has the locally required thatched roof, but also traditional dormers and wood-framed windows with shutters.
The 90 sq m large house, which is constructed entirely of wood, offers space for four people. A great emphasis in the interior design has been placed on openness and lightness. The ony ground-floor room with a door is the bathroom. The entrance area leads directly to the living room, with a dining area and seating by the fireside. Plenty of windows flood the space with light and offer views into the garden. The top floor houses two bedrooms with built-in furniture that makes the most of the space beneath the roof. The house is full of details that reflect the owner´s passion employed in planning, decorating and fitting out the property. The concrete floor tiles in the entrance area and the kitchen were designed especially for the house and harmonise perfectly with the pitch pine floorboards. The built-in-furniture and kitchen are custom-made. The rooms are decorated with a harmonious colour scheme throughout – soft pastel shades create a cheerful atmosphere. Throughout the house there are works of art that the owners have collected especially for the holiday home.
