Waldchalets Brandnertal

Waldchalets Brandnertal

Far from the chalet cliché. Five minimalist cottages stand on the edge of the Brandner Valley forest. Hidden under the Vorarlberg treetops and with an open view of the mighty Rätikon mountains. Those who stay here can enjoy pure nature and tranquillity and yet across the rushing mountain stream they are only a stone’s throw away from everything: the Brandner mountain railway, the tennis court, the golf course and the climbing park. On foot, of course, because here, a few metres from the house, even the car is on holiday.

All five chalets have been placed along the edge of the forest in a simple and modern way, so that the guests can enjoy an ever-changing view of the valley and the mountains with maximum privacy. The contrast between the dark outer shell, which subtly integrates the chalets into the forest, and the light, warm wood of the living areas creates a varying interplay between outside and inside, which always reveals itself in a new way at every time of day and season. Even the large window fronts reflect the green of the trees or the snow-covered winter forest, allowing the houses to interact with their surroundings.

Whether it’s for a family holiday, a weekend with friends or time-out for two – each chalet offers generous space for two to six people. For culinary experiments, the ground floor has a kitchen equipped with great attention to detail, including a long dining table, a comfortable bathroom and a bedroom with a double bed. If you then climb the wooden stairs to the upper floor, the gallery offers, in addition to two more bedrooms, the best views – of the idyllic panorama and the cosy sitting area. And just outside the door and beyond the covered terrace a children’s playground is waiting for little forest spirits and there is also a barbecue area for long summer evenings. If you can no longer see the forest for the trees, you’ve arrived.

Owner

Susanne and Hannes Durnwalder live in Brand with their children and both originally come from the catering industry. With the Chalets Brandnertal, they have realised their dream and created a place where they can share with their guests the diversity of the region, the clear mountain air and the regional culture with all its traditions and values. In addition, Hannes runs the “Spezerei”, a shop where you can find selected specialities – from Bündnerfleisch to wines from South Tyrol and cheese from the Brandner Valley.
