The Gutshaus Friedenfelde lies like a novel in the Brandenburg countryside. An ensemble, partly from the 18th century, which blends history, modernity and culture in a striking way.
The landscape of the Uckermark is contemplative in itself. Its gentle, glacial hills, vast fields, extensive forests, hidden lakes and moors. On the edge of the village of Gerswalde, in the middle of a huge park with fruit trees that merges into a small forest, lies the Friedenfelde manor house – an atmospheric and deeply relaxing place that lives up to its name. Whether for holidays or celebrations. The three-part holiday home ensemble consists of a listed manor house from 1742, its stable, the so-called Bergbauerhaus, and a sleek new building, the Kavaliershaus. In addition to multifaceted accommodation for couples, families and larger groups, there is also an in-house cultural programme for all those interested.
The manor house accommodates four holiday apartements of different sizes for a total of 22 people, combining historical details with rich colours, vintage furniture, contemporary design and modern art. On the ground floor, the fireplace room, the salons, the well-equipped manor house kitchen, the music room and the library immerse the baroque period in warm pastel colours and a timeless light. These rooms can be shared and hired for events.
The two-storey barn-style Kavaliershaus is divided into two parts and offers a modern holiday home for four people on one side and a sauna and laundry room on the other, which can be used by all guests. The Bergbauerhaus, once the stables of the estate, offers accommodation for up to five people in a holiday apartement that impresses with its simplicity and originality without sacrificing comfort.
In addition to the refurbishment and preservation of old floorboards, doors and shutters in compliance with listed building regulations, only sustainable materials such as clay plaster, shell limestone, bricks, wood and natural stone were used and the new building was also realised in a sustainable and climate-friendly manner. All units have access to the extensive park, which merges seamlessly into the neighbouring terminal moraine landscape. Here you can walk, laze, read and observe nature. In summer together with the storks, which also return to this wonderfully relaxing place time and again.
What to do
