The holiday home “Altes Schifferhaus” (old sailor house) is a 250 year old listed building in the peaceful village of Wieck in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. During the renovation of the half-timbered house much emphasis was placed on sustainability as well as the preservation and authentic restoration of the original structure. Natural materials such as mud-plastered walls and ceilings, the façade made of (partly historical) wooden boards and the reed covered roof ensure a healthy indoor climate. The 240 square meter house sleeps up to eight people. On the ground floor with four bedrooms and a large kitchen the historic floor plan has remained unchanged. In the attic a 135 sqm large open living area has been created with a view on the large garden filled with old trees.
What to do
The Darß offers excellent conditions for hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, surfing and sailing. The landlord invites you to a sailing trip on his old fishing boat "HULDA". If you prefer more natural and sporty activities, then Henrik Schmidtbauer is happy to show you his favorite places on the water by kayak. He is also a good contact person if you are interested in climbing trees.
Why we like this house
A stylishly renovated Darßer house with a timelessly modern decor and plenty of space.
This house is great for
Holidays with family and friends.
The hosts Monica and Henrik Schmidtbauer are closely linked to the Darß. Monika Schmidtbauer runs the tea room Teeschale in the seaside resort of Prerow. Her grandfather was the last lighthouse keeper at the Darßer place. With his outdoor company darssour Henrik Schmidtbauer leads guests by sea kayak, on foot or by bike through the region.
