The Larix Lodge in the village of La Villa (Stern) in Alta Badia is modern, yet rooted in tradition. The wooden façade, loggia and gable roof relate to the characteristic features of the region’s buildings, but at the same time the building has an independent, contemporary character. Each of the three holiday flats opens up to the southwest with large window fronts and its own outdoor space facing the mountain panorama. The ground floor flat features a terrace. The first-floor flat has a loggia that can be closed with sliding windows and can thus be used as either an indoor or outdoor space all year round. The balcony of the attic flat is partly hidden behind wooden slats and therefore has the character of an intimate retreat.
Natural materials from the region determine the character of the Larix Lodge, especially larch wood that inspired its name. The façade is made of dark-glazed larch wood with rough sawing marks; in the interiors, the floors, walls and ceilings are made of white-oiled larch. Some of the pieces of furniture that were specially made for the house are built of the same material. The ambience is homely but by no means rustic. The straight-lined design, purist fireplaces, concrete worktops in the kitchens or the dark colouring of the built-in units in the attic flat add a modern touch. The bathrooms and showers are designed with Passeirer gneiss. Lime-plastered walls and steps with cement plaster lend the staircase its special character.
Each flat has its own sauna where guests can relax after a day on the ski slopes. The pistes are directly in view from the flats, and it is possible to set off on skis directly from the house (ski-in / ski-out). In summer, the hiking area is practically on the doorstep.

Good location and a nice building blending clean and modern design with local tradition. Amazing views of the mountains from every room. Right next to the ski slope and just a short walk from the village center. The elevator, indoor parking, sauna, fireplace and balcony make it a great find. Perfect for families or for remote working with good sound insulation. Nice design details from the lamps to the custom made furniture to the latest fixtures. Beautiful walks nearby. I can’t wait to visit again!
