Quiet luxury

Creating clarity: Belgian architect Tom Thys has given new life to the Aristo House. This his­to­rical building dates back to 1914 and is situated on a slope of the Trigno Valley with a fan­tastic view over the hills, woods and fields of Abruzzo.

The Life House was designed by British architect John Pawson, widely known for his mini­malist style. Located in a Welsh valley, the house is a place of silence and con­tem­plation, inspired by both Japanese archi­tecture and Bene­dictine monas­teries.

The house is a project of the Berlin architect Thomas Kröger, who always cap­tures the beauty of the Uckermark in an unusual way and with great respect for the land­scape. With In den Söllen he has created his first own holiday home.

Casa Modesta is located in the Ria Formosa Nature Park, a pro­tected natural lagoon on the Por­tu­guese Algarve. To the owners Casa Modesta means more than just a hotel: they asso­ciate happy childhood memories with the estate that once belonged to their grand­father.

The Larix Lodge in the village of La Villa (Stern) in Alta Badia is modern, yet rooted in tra­dition. The wooden façade, loggia and gable roof relate to the cha­rac­te­ristic fea­tures of the region’s buil­dings, but at the same time the building has an inde­pendent, con­tem­porary cha­racter.

The name Heumond is a reminder of summer life in the coun­tryside. The modern inter­pre­tation of a tra­di­tional timber house is sur­rounded by fra­grant hay fields and rough pas­tures on a sunny plateau not far from Lake Wörth.

onedown is not just located in the middle of the unspoilt dune land­scape of North Jutland, it is part of it. A holiday home for eight people, inte­grated into the hilly terrain and its vege­tation.
