onedown

onedown

Let the grass grow over it: The house onedown is not only located amidst the pristine dune landscape of Northern Jutland, it is part of it. A holiday home for eight people, integrated into the hilly terrain and its vegetation. Only the two large windows look out over the North Sea and reveal that this is a truly special retreat. The German-Danish architect Jan Henrik Jansen is known for his changes of perspective. With onedown, he simply remains grounded, allowing the structure of the landscape to unfold its effect. On one level with the sea, the surrounding dunes appear like mountains, behind which the water and the horizon open up.
A staircase leads to the inner courtyard, the central element of onedown, which is completely enclosed by the house and the dunes and offers privacy as well as shelter from the wind. Like the coastal landscape, the building follows surprising shapes and structures. Walls run clear and straight in one moment, before swinging around the corner in the next, losing themselves in slats or hiding in niches. Consistently framed in cool exposed concrete and artfully crafted fittings made of warm, light wood. A contrast that harmoniously blends with the gentle to rough nature and its colours.
The heart of the house is a large open space that combines kitchen, dining and living room. With a long table overlooking the sunset and various corners where you can sit and watch the spectacle of nature unfold before the panoramic windows: From the wide windowsill to the reading bunk or the sofa with fireplace. All around, four bedrooms and two bathrooms offer even more space for rest and relaxation. And if you want to warm up again after an endless walk on the beach or a swim in the North Sea, you can heat up the sauna. After all, onedown is a house where you can immerse yourself deeply in everything.

Unglaublich schön! All unsere Erwartungen wurden erfüllt.

Sehr gerne wieder! :-)
