The NewHaus holiday homes are situated on the edge of a pine forest just behind the dunes of the Baltic Sea resort of Dierhagen-Neuhaus. With their dark wooden facades, these long buildings, built offset from one another, blend in harmoniously with their surroundings. The living rooms in each house feature large window fronts and terraces on either side, which allow you to see through the houses and let the architecture merge visually with the natural environment.
These seaside holiday homes are designed as a retreat from hectic city life and offer all the comforts of a second home. The 120 sqm sized houses each have identical floor plans but differ in their number of bedrooms. House Pine has four bedrooms, while house Sand has only three, featuring a study instead. The centrepiece of each house is the living room with a fireplace, an open kitchen and a large dining table. The interiors are equipped with classic furniture in an urban style that is both elegant and casual.
The color scheme by Berlin artist Friederike Tebbe picks up the calm, subdued colours of the surroundings – the beige hues of the sand, blues and greys of sky and water, the green of the grasses, with additional dashes of red and yellow that echo the sunsets. The walls are hung with contemporary art from the owners’ own collection.
