Hoteliers Teresa Unterthiner and Stefan Hinteregger wanted to create a place that embodies ultimate freedom – the Odles Lodge was created at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the middle of the high alpine Swiss stone pine forests. The Ladin word ‘Odles’ means ‘needles’ and also refers to the Geisler, the symbol of the Dolomites.
During a stay at the Odles Lodge, nature and the mountains take centre stage. The building grows out of a slope and almost seems to be part of the landscape. Built from local spruce and Swiss stone pine, the ensemble of four residential units echoes the lifestyle of traditional South Tyrolean mountain huts. Generous south-facing window fronts and terraces allow spectacular views of the Dolomites. The choice of materials – wood, stone, glass – is purist, as is the furnishing.
The 55 to 85 square metre lodges are designed especially for longer stays that are intended to provide lasting relaxation. With this in mind, they each have a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and are already stocked with typical South Tyrolean specialities designed for alpine life. Breakfast is delivered daily at the desired time. The lodges provide the perfect setting for enjoying the simple things in life: an extended breakfast on the large terrace on warm summer days, cosying up in front of the log fire on cold winter evenings. There is a small spa area in the green inner courtyard of the chalets – with a pool, Swiss stone pine sauna, a granite steam bath and water from the Plose springs.

What to do
(Snowshoe) hiking and mountain biking from the lodge, in winter the slopes of the Plose can be reached in a few minutes on skis or snowboard; the town of Brixen with shops and restaurants is around 20 km away. The hotel has its own small spa area; guests can book spa treatments at the Hotel Forestis just a few kilometres away and visit the restaurant by prior arrangement.
