Château des Sibra in Lagarde in the south of France, surrounded by the hilly foothills of the Pyrenees, offers an ambience, as steeped in history as it is stylish and almost fairytale-like, for celebrations of all kinds, seminars and workshops, retreats or simply holidays. A few years ago, Swiss architect Sibylle Thomke, enchanted by the old building structure and the extensive park surrounding it, renovated and extended the property comprehensively and carefully. With a great sense of aesthetics and style, she has preserved the historical substance and added contemporary elements and furnishings. In addition to several holiday apartments and the former caretaker’s house, there is a large communal kitchen, a parlour, a terrace and, of course, the large garden directly adjacent to the Château’s park. The parlour, as well as the studio and an additional seminar room are suitable for inspiring meetings, workshops or retreats, while the former granary offers plenty of space for larger parties and celebrations. Those who want to combine travelling and working will also find a peaceful and inspiring environment here.
