Das Pirol

A space suitable for Event, Meeting, Workshop

The Pirol, situated in the Uckermark village of Beenz between Prenzlau and Templin, is like a small hidden island surrounded by two lakes and large trees. Viewed from the outside, its long fieldstone barn doesn’t immediately reveal its purpose. Only in a few places, openings have been cut into the stone walls to add new windows and gates. On the barn side, a high space with exposed roof beams has been created. A wooden box and a large entrance hall are suitable for photo shoots and product presentations. The middle section of the former stable with vaulted ceilings and old steel supports can be used for workshops, team meetings and offsite events. Long tables, colourful sofa elements and a bar contrast with the rough ambiance. The original walls were left as they were found and only painted, and the floor was partially complemented with screed. Imperfections are celebrated and offer both the opportunity and the challenge to bring this space to life. The Pirol is a work-in-progress project and will be gradually expanded.

On the outskirts of Lindenhagen in the Uckermark region of north-eastern Brandenburg, Berlin architect Thomas Kröger has converted a 1950s estate house into a fantastic holiday home.
