After a chequered history, one of the oldest listed inns on the Ostbaar in southern Baden-Württemberg is now the ‘1280 Die Krone’. After almost four years of renovation, the boutique hotel was opened in 2023 as a merger of the old ‘Krone’ inn and two neighbouring buildings plus an extension. Owner Christoph von Bothmer and architect Markus Uhrig have reinterpreted the historical substance according to the motto: the old remains old and is radically supplemented with modern, purist elements.
1280 Die Krone is not just a hotel. The characteristic vaulted cellar serves as the centrepiece for celebrations and events. Whether it’s a business dinner, team building event, wedding or Christmas party – on request, the hotel will create a suitable concept for groups of up to 50 people in the various rooms, from the guest room to the vaulted cellar.
The 70 square metre panelled hall is available for conferences, business meetings and creative work, with old floorboards and exposed brickwork, large mullioned windows and modern leather chairs. Depending on the seating arrangement, it can accommodate up to 40 people. The Spa Suite, which is integrated into the roof truss of one of the neighbouring buildings, is also available as a meeting room for smaller teams. Designed with an open-plan concept, the lower floor serves as a conference venue, while the sauna on the upper floor can be used at the end of the day.
If you would like to book the complete package for conferences and celebrations: 29 individual rooms and suites in four buildings are available, with half-day or full-day catering and dinner in the restaurant.
