The ‘Ship of Löbau’: Hans Scharoun’s Haus Schminke, first occupied in 1933, is regarded as one of the most significant residential buildings of the Classical Modernist period. Even today, it is possible to live in this functional yet extravagant ‘pasta steamer’ – on a temporary basis.
