The Castellaccio Suite is a hideaway for two with a fantastic view over the Umbrian hills, all the way to Lake Trasimeno. It is situated at 600 metres above sea level near the village of Piegaro on the border with Tuscany. Cocooning was the keyword for the property’s Belgian owners when they began planning the house: they wanted to create a retreat for two people that would be truly surrounded by nature.

The historic complex, which comprises a main building and outbuildings grouped around a central square, was in ruins until it was discocerd by the Berlin architecture firm Wietersheim, who lovingly restored it and gave it a new, contemporary lease of life.
